Dirty Rotten Scoundrels – Pickerington Community Theatre

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, based on the popular 1988 MGM film, takes us to the French Riviera for high jinks and hilarity. Sophisticated, suave with a good dash of mischief, this hysterical comedy features a delightfully jazzy score by David Yazbek (The Full Monty) and was nominated for a staggering eleven Tony Awards.

Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother’s failing health. After meeting on a train, they attempt to work together, only to find that this small French town isn’t big enough for the two of them. They agree on a settlement: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target, heiress, Christine Colgate, wins, and the other must leave town. A hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end!

Auditions are open to actors 18 years old and older.

You will be asked to fill out an audition form. You can save time at the audition by filling out the form provided at the link above, but forms will be able to fill out at auditions as well. You may attach a resume and picture if you wish (it is not required). Please bring a calendar that includes conflicts.

You will have your picture taken and a number will be assigned to you.

Auditions will consist of a music audition and (if you are auditioning for a speaking role) a cold reading audition. Please prepare a song excerpt (approx. 1-2 minutes) for your music audition. Do NOT sing a song from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. You may bring your phone to connect to a Bluetooth speaker, or sheet music for our accompanist. The Director requests that you do not sing a capella.

The final cast list will be sent via email by Wednesday night, December 17th and posted on our website.

Show performances are 8pm Fridays & Saturdays, 2pm Saturdays & Sundays March 6th – 15th, 2026 at The Theater at Violet Woods Event Center (Formally the Wigwam Event Center)

Rehearsals will be held Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Sunday afternoons beginning January 2, 2026. ALL cast members MUST attend the first rehearsal to receive your materials, take costume measurements, and complete any paperwork. Tech Week (Sunday through Thursday before Opening Night) will include weeknight rehearsals.
